Mr. Arthur R. Goodlett was interviewed by Fred D. Dixon. The interview took place on November 16, 1938 3:30PM to 5:30PM. Mr. Goodlett is a male African American. Mr. Goodlett was born in Brewton Alabama in 1889. He is 49 years old. Mr. Goodlett is the foreman of Sanitation at the Cudahy packing company in Omaha, Alabama. The interview was in the home of Mr. Goodlett. His address is 2815 Binney St. This interview was mainly to find out about Arthur Goodlett’s life. He described his jobs, his family, and some other things about his life. He was born in Brewton, Alabama in 1889. It says how he found a job in the packing industry in Omaha in a newspaper, which I found interesting. Arthur said, “It was while living in this town that I read of Omaha Nebraska and the opportunities for Negroes in the packing industry.” His family consists of him, his wife, Fannie, and his son, Carlton. It sounded like Arthur has had a pretty good life. He has a wife and a good home. The article said, “This home is situated in about the best of the Negro district. The yard is well landscaped and well kept. The home is a modern six room bungalow.”
